Karnal, December 22, 2016: A team of senior officials from Puri Oil Mills Limited distributed winter clothing Stationary to students at Government Middle Schools in Thaska Khader village of district Yamuna Nagar & Tusang village of district Karnal, Haryana as part of its social responsibility and commitment to the welfare of the villages adjoining to its micro hydel projects at Khukhani and Mussapur.

Head master of Government Middle School, Thaska village Mr. Anup Singh distributed the woolen sweaters and “thanked Puri Oil Mills Limited on the occasion for such charitable initiatives and works that they do for the school and students from time to time. Children are the wealth of any nation and we must all do our bit to support them in whatever way we can”.

The distribution of winter clothing commenced at Thaska Village School around 11.00 am where the students had gathered for the distribution. More than 500 woolen sweaters were distributed to the young students. Mr. Sandeep Singh, Mr. Ajitpal Singh and Deepak Bedi from Puri Oil Mills Limited along with Principal and teachers graced the event. Kuldeep, a student who came with his mother to receive woolen sweater & stationeries, was so happy that he insisted on carrying it home himself, saying “I want to carry it alone until

we get home”.

Puri Oil Mills operates the Khukhani hydel power plant near Thaska and Mussapur hydel power plant near village Tusang since last couple of years and has been providing electricity to the state grid at Garhi Birbal. The commissioning of micro hydel power projects has bought infrastructure development in these areas, generated local employment for skilled and semi-skilled workers. Puri Oil mills Ltd is planning to be set up 14-megawatt (MW) hydropower project in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. The company is contemplating various options such as joint venture, developmental funds and private equity, among others.
